The Stefanou Foundation was really pleased to sponsor Stevenage FC’s match against Morecambe on Good Friday, 14 April. As well as hoping for a great match and a home win (#BestHomeWin), we wanted to let people know about our For Baby's Sake programme, which works with expectant parents in Hertfordshire to break the cycle of domestic abuse and give babies the best possible start in life.
We handed out pens to every Stevenage fan (and to all of the Morecambe fans who travelled to the match) to promote the partnership.
We were all really excited to meet with Boro Bear for some photo opportunities
and to discuss match tactics!
The For Baby's Sake programme starts in pregnancy and supports both parents, whether or not they’re together as a couple. Our message is that bringing an end to domestic abuse would give families their #BestHomeWin, working with each parent’s motivation to change and creating the family they want for themselves and their children.
Stelio Stefanou, Chairman of the Stefanou Foundation, says, “We were delighted to team up with Stevenage Football Club and Stevenage Football Club Foundation for the Good Friday match to help us to reach out to dads and mums who want to turn around their lives and create a new future for their children. We look forward to building our partnership with the Boro”.
Sadly the result against Morecambe wasn’t a win for Stevenage this time – better luck for the rest of the season!
